L&T’s Power Transmission and Distribution business vertical is a leading EPC player in the field of power transmission and distribution and solar energy. The business offers integrated solutions and end-to-end services ranging from design, manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of transmission lines, substations, underground cable networks, distribution networks, power quality improvement projects, infrastructure electrification, solar PV plants, battery energy storage system and mini/micro grid projects. Besides being a dominant player in the Indian market, the business enjoys a significant share and a strong reputation in the Middle East, Africa and ASEAN markets.

Tower Manufacturing & Testing Facilities

The business is well integrated, having its own towermanufacturing facilities of more than 1,25,000 mtpa capacity strategically located at Puducherry, Pithampur and Kancheepuram. L&T’s Transmission Line Testing & Research Station is one of the largest tower-testing stations in the world.

Subsidiary Companies

Through L&T Oman LLC and L&T Saudi Arabia LLC, extra-high voltage substations and overhead transmission lines have been built on EPC basis across the Sultanate of Oman and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

With a track record that includes some of the largest solar plants in the country, L&T has proven EPC capabilities in offering economically viable and technically superior solutions for utility-scale/captive solar power plants, mini/micro-grids and battery energy storage system solutions. A tracker mechanism developed in-house, offers greater benefits for developers. The solar business secured orders amounting to more than 250 MW, procuring repeat orders from its key clientele.
